HISTORY OF THE FARM
Fazenda Vargem Grande is in a privileged region for agricultural activity due to its favorable climatic conditions, a predominant factor in growing high-quality coffee.
Over the years, coffee cultivation has been the family’s main source of income. Through family succession, Mr. Edson Tamekuni, a 3rd generation coffee producer, adopted new crop management practices, resulting in harvesting excellent quality coffee.

COFFEE PROCESSING SYSTEM
The farm works with two types of coffee processing: semi-wet and wet. In semi-wet preparation, the recently harvested coffee is washed and taken for pre-drying on concrete patios and later dried in mechanical dryers. There is rigorous control of the drying process, with constant monitoring of the humidity and temperature of the coffee to assure a high-quality drink.
In wet preparation, the fruits are washed and separated based on ripeness. Next the coffee cherries are hulled. The hulled coffee is taken to concrete patios for pre-drying. The drying process is completed in mechanical dryers.

CONCERN ABOUT QUALITY
The farm has several different varieties of coffees with unmatched flavors. Together with innovative handling and by following strict good agricultural practices, this results in excellent coffees.
